The Wedding Industry Outreach is hosting the first ever Progressive Round Robin Wedding Tour, and YOU are invited to witness 5 couples getting married AT THE SAME TIME. While one set of couples is getting married in one area of town, another set of 5 couples will be getting married at 4other locations across the city. That’s 25couples!!

I get asked this question all the time. I even did a interview with a reporter from CNN and this made it into several publications! – My claim to fame. So I thought I would post what we usually send to our brides when we send them the final payments due list. They seemed to really like it and I hope you do to.

Tipping Chart Guidelines

One of the most common questions I am asked is, who to tip and how much to tip. I tell all of my brides that tipping is not necessary, but it is a very nice way to say “thank you” to the vendors that help make your day special. It is not so much about the amount, but that you acknowledge the vendors for the role they played in the days leading up to your wedding and on your wedding day. The following amounts are merely guiding suggestions; you’re free to give more to professionals who exceeded your expectations and really made your day special. And of course, I suggest that you include a beautiful thank you note.

Event planner: 10 to 20 percent of your bill, depending on the terms of contract, or a nice gift.

Officiants: $50 to $100 on top of any set fees. If they do not accept a cash gift, a donation to their place of worship is kind and appropriate.

Organists and ceremony musicians: $20 to $40, depending on length of service – Most of Musicians have their tip included. Ask you Event Planner if you have any questions.

Reception site manager: 15 to 20 percent of entire bill for the reception. Check your contract to see if gratuity is already included.

Waiters: $20 to $40 each, depending upon quality of service. If you saw that there were only a few waiters who worked their tails off, give them more (in most cases this is already included in your final bill).

Valets: $1-$2 per car.

Bartenders: 15 percent of liquor bill. Check your contract to see if gratuity is already included.

Coat check: $1 per coat.

Limousine drivers: 15 to 20 percent of transportation bill (Check to see if tip is already included in the contract first! If so, then on-the-day tip may be smaller as a token for great service, or left out altogether).

Photographer and Videographer: A $50 tip is completely acceptable and they can split it with their assistant.

Entertainers: $25 to $30 each, more if they really exceeded expectations. Again, check your contract to see if gratuity is already included.

DJ: 10 to 20 percent of your total bill, if they do an amazing job.

Beauticians and barbers, manicurists and makeup artists: 15 to 20 percent of beauty salon bill – don’t forget the shampoo person!

Delivery Drivers: A $10 tip for each delivery of flowers, linens, or cakes is a very nice gesture.

Altar boys or girls – $10-15.00 each.

Baby-sitters: $30 to $40 each, plus a gift, in addition to their hourly wages; more if baby-sitter is putting in extra hours or caring for several children.

We had this W wired to the gate as guest arrives, so cute! It was made out of moss , so Melissa took it home to place in their new home.

Cake Pulls for the bridesmaids. Each Bridesmaids pulled a ribbon and on the end of the ribbon is a charm, depending on what charm they pulled, will predict the bridesmaids future. For example if someone received a ring as their charm, they will be the next to get married. – So much fun!

It was a really nice night with the lights and lanterns, I loved it!

Pattern on the Laguna Gloria added the finishing touches!

Renee and Mike’s Wedding! St. Catherines and Shoreline Grill

Renee and Mike are just two really awesome people! They love life and each other. I wish I could do there wedding once a month, over and over. They where so fun to be around. Here is some of the pictures from the wedding I wanted to share.

Angelica and Stroud- 5/28/2010

When we first met Angelica and Stroud they had a very special relationship and you could tell that there love for each other ran deep. We were very excited about the wedding that they had started planning. Angelica and Stroud choose a beautiful location overlooking the Austin skyline at the Zilker Park Clubhouse. It was a beautiful ceremony joining two lovely families together as one.

The event was an eventing wedding and they said their marriage vows as the sun began to set. The night was very romantic and intimite. The environment during the entire evening was very relaxed and enjoyable. Smokey Mo’s catered the event and the guests danced the night away under the stars and enjoyed the view of the city all lit up at night.

Lindsey Hand and Chris English Wedding

The first time I met Lindsey and Chris , I knew it was true love. They had already found the perfect venue Villa Antonia and their Photographer Lisa Shepard. Lindsey, being a drama teacher in Dallas, Texas. Lindsey knew you wanted her wedding to be over the top. Pink was the color. We hired Beth Richards from Exqusite Flowers for her over the top floral designs and Filo Designsfor their expert lighting. The weather was perfect, the bride was gorgeous, the groom was ready to go and the night was just so magical.

Renee and Mike – The Engagement

When Renee told me she was getting married, I knew right away I wanted to help her with her wedding. Renee wanted something simple and her favorite color is yellow, so we incorporated yellow as much as we could into her wedding and we just concentrated on keeping it simple. Look how cute they are!

It was hard just to pick a couple, I loved all the pictures. Renee and Mike our such a cute couple.

Yellow is her favorite color and what a happy color, just like Renee always happy and smiling.

Mike is taking Renee to New York, but they promised to move back. Two years – That will be a long two years. Don’t forget about Austin!

You can really tell how much they are in LOVE!

I met Renee during the Runway to Heaven Fashion Show and I instantly bonded with her. And we have been close friends ever since. When Renee allowed me to do her wedding. I just thought, what an honor.

I can’t wait to post the wedding Pictures – They’re amazing!

Yasisca & Kamal – May 8th, 2010

Yasisca and Kamal was a referral from Jamie and Robert. I have to tell you Ilove referrals and I love Yasisca and Kamal. If I had ever met a couple that was made for one another, well this is that couple. They are so much in love, and I was so excited that they selected Jeff and I to help them with their wedding. Yasisca & Kamal’s Wedding will be at St. Austin’s Catholic Church. I am really excited that we will be working with a Bishop for the first time. Bishop Elya from Massachusetts.

Yasisca and Kamal’s Reception will be at the new Westin at the Domian. We have the privaledge of being the first wedding. So history will be made on May 8th, 2010!

Brenda Abbott Floral Design is producing their flowers. They will be amazing. The colors are red and white. Yasisca also choose Marquee for her linens. The have a huge play room that really helped us pull Yasisca’s vision together.

Cho Photography was Yasisca and Kamal’s choice for photographer. One of the most important choices when it comes to your vendor selection, beside your wedding coordinator. While your wedding coordinator saves you money, fights for you, and acts as your eyes and your ears when your not there, keeps you on track of things and makes the magic happen! Your photographer will capture the emotion of the day, and if you don’t have a great photographer to capture it all, well you just have memories. So don’t skimp on your photographer. Cho Photography is a husband and wife team and they are so easy to work with.

Okay, the big day is May 8th, 2010. I will post the pictures as soon as I get them!

Charles and Kristina- Backyard Wedding

Charles and Kristina wanted a fun and relaxing wedding with just their closest friends. So with a little magic we converted their backyard in their version of tropical paradise.

They decided to do the dove ceremony instead of just the dove release. Thanks to Rebecca from Lone Star Dove Release for providing the Doves.

The couple wore all white and had white orchids everywhere. It was really breath taking!

Charles and Kristina had all 5 of their puppys in the ceremony. I loved it!

Just look at that face, you know he is thinking how awesome he looks.

Yea! The Kiss to seal the deal. They where so very happy, and I feel so lucky being apart of one of the most important day of their lives.

The cake is one of the most important aspects of the wedding. It is always a challenge to keep the cake from not melting during a backyard wedding. Thanks Michelle from Michelle’s Patisserie.

The flowers where gorgeous and Michael from Floral Renaissance Rocked it that night. Everyone was amazed with the flowers.

The first dance is also one of my favorites. The couple always looks so in-love, like there isn’t another soul around. just them and the music. Thanks to Jona from Forever Photography Studio for the amazing pictures.

Charles and Kristina’s wedding is now over, months and months of planning, making sure ever detail was taken care of. The end result was simple elegance. I love backyard weddings! The are just so intimate.
